This is my trail bike , a Heavy Tools Transalp, frame made of Reynolds 631 double butted cromo fitted with mavic EX 731 freeride wheels downhill rims, avid arch rival Vbrakes and Rock Shox Psylo Race Gold Edition 125mm travel fork, despite its 13kilos , it is a very capable and outstanding trail bike. Tires are Continental Mountain King in 26*2.2

The pivot on the SID nowadays is carbon and tapered , not sure that it exists in titanium or easton aluminium anymore so if there is an accident with the fork steerer on a modern SID, you will have to do a lot for getting the warranty working and getting a replacement. Maybe registering your product at Rock Shox with a Sid will help. For older SIDs and other discontinued Rock Shox forks such as the Judy, Reba, Tora, Psylo and Pilot in 26 you will have to go through ebay to look for main spare parts and have a good bike mechanic.The SID is also a race fork, so if you are into racing yes it makes sense. I don't know what wheels do you have but maybe changing of wheels for a slightly lighter and sturdier pair might be a solution.Are your wheels Bontrager ?
