It took me a little while to end up running mismatched tires on my gravel bike, max clearance at the front was more but not that much more so why bother having two different tires to worry about? Now that there's more options in 700cx45-50 and I've got more variety of bikes, only one bike is running the same size and type tires front and rear. The rest are all more aggressive and/or wider in the front, narrower (to max clearance) in the rear and usually less aggressive. I somehow ended up with a reverse mullet for a while, which was a silly option but worked well for what I wanted.
