I’m ok with all the theory n’ crap, but in reality, I run the same tires F&R. I imagine, in my mind, that’s it’s to do with predictable handling, but the truth is that it’s about looks. I can easily imagine that a mixed setup would be optimal— that’s how I did it back in the ‘80s and ‘90s MTBing— but I prefer matched sidewall color for ROAD & Gravel. I could probably get that within a brand line, but I’m simply too lazy to bother, so it’s same/same for me. I just don’t have interest or means to determine whether it’s insufficient grip front or rear that’s keeping me out of World Championship contention. 😜
