Gentlement, there is no sure way to health, and "totalitarian" diets like carnivore and keto versions I am not a big fan of either. But if the answer to whether a fig, a banana, or a couple of dates is better than you than maltodexwhatever is not obvious to you, there is no point in debating about it (with me at least).

You do not have to overthink or over-complicate things, just east real food as a human, fatty fish, chicken with the skin, meat with the fat, eggs, cheese, full-fat Greek yogurt, olive oil, butter, avocados, veggies, nuts and seeds, some fruit, good honey if you can find it, and your calories should naturally distribute to something like 60% from fat, 20% from protein, 20% from carbs. Eat 2-3 times per day, 4-5 hours appart, and try to maintain a fast of at least 12 hours (including sleep). If you have a long strenuous workout planned, eat a bit more carbs before and after the workout. In general, as a functioning human, you should be able to skip a meal or two without having cravings, heck, you could even go on for 24 or 48 hours doing your regular chores without any issues (not that that is a good idea in the long run, just keep the macro/micronutrients coming).

And, as I have said multiple times before, I still do simple carbs, I still like my honey and my ripe bananas, and dark chocolate, but they typically do not go beyond that 20% per day. We have excellent strawberries in France these months, I have also been eating plenty of those, like a small cup per day.

Since we are into videos, here is one from someone who seems like a real person:

Yes, he talks about the same things I do too. In a next video he says that, sometimes, snacking on some haribos in the middle of a hard ride to get some extra boost might not be too bad, you just eat them and get out of a difficult situation, restore your blood sugar levels. Yeah, why not! But they are not the driver for performance.
