All-Packa with 2x9 Microshift 481% ($500 option over 1x9 Microshift 364% base setup), w/discs standard, $3400 (!) Heckuva premium price for a very base setup. Also note: Rohloff 14 with White Industries hubs and crank, $4900 option on top of $2900 base price! But with an R14, only the front hub is White Industries! Shoot, I'd build up my own R14 rear wheel, stick with the base crank and front hub, and save about $3000.
No question I would go with a NWT if it has the tire clearance I would want. That's just an enormous cost delta.
Bike Friday recently announced that the All-Packa has replaced the NWT as their top-selling model. The NWT has been their top-seller for probably decades, so this is quite an achievement. I think they really struck a nerve with the All-Packa. On the recent Five Boro Bike Tour of NYC, I had two people ride up and compliment the All-Packa. One fella was on a Brompton 16" and said that he'd get the All-Packa before the 20" Brompton. The other was on an All-City flat bar ADV/party pace style bike. So the price is probably affected by their popularity - making hay while the sun shines. Let's not forget that they almost went belly-up just a handful of years ago.
But since we're on this resurrected thread, I might as well show the All-Packa actually bikepacking...
