?s bout TPU valve stems

In the last year, Ive been moving to TPU tubes. 3 of the 4 wheels are now TPU; so far, so good. But I always get the kind with metal/threaded stems. The chuck on my air compressor wont attach w/o threaded stem. Will a mini pump or floor pump attach to the plastic stems? Why dont they have a lock nut?

The latest, above, has metal/threaded stem, but..... I dont understand it- theres a 'nut', oring (cant see it), and other thing meant to conform to a rim. Metal stems are kinda rare, most are plastic. How to ppl work it?
