I'm 64 years old and have lived in NYC most of my life. (Birth to 26 and 52 to now.) And still, pretty much every day there are many things that make you go WHAT? or roll your eyes or burst out laughing. People here are not inhibited from deviating from the norm such that there seem to be few norms at all.
