I was right-hooked by a car three or so years ago. Main injury was a broken collarbone. But the initial impact was my left hand on the bars. No broken bones, but the large knuckle on the middle finger got crunched good. Eventually x-rays showed a sort of divot in one of the mating surfaces of the joint. This part got pulverized and then just dissolved. It's not that bad, but ortho doctor said I got a big head start on arthritis in that hand.

So, it's never fully recovered and never will. It sounds like the OP has not seen a doctor about this. I would recommend that they do. It could be the difference of it healing correctly or not. Also, they can refer you to PT which made a big difference in my recovery. It was quite some time from injury to PT for me. Like 1-2 months as I remember. I don't really remember why other than my own ignorance. In other words, don't wait for a doctor to bring up PT, bring it up with them to get the ball rolling.

Improvement had stopped by the time I started PT. I was maybe 60% of fully recovered where they got me to 95% or so. PT worked things loose and strengthened things. Those PT's really do know a thing or two.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.
