Cut the side flaps off a B17. It won't effect the comfort of the saddle at all, but all of a sudden people will start commenting on how uncomfortable it looks.

In other words people tend think mass looks comfy, but if you shave away all the mass that doesn't actually come in contact with your ass you haven't effected comfort al all, but you've radically changed peoples perception of the saddle.
