I think he means the 550/501 combo. They are super strong and super smooth sealed bearing hubs. And they support the extra width with a freewheel.

They also have the Dakar heavy duty version which someone posted somewhere a ways back that it supported his packing everything for an overland self contained jaunt in Argentina.
