The ride was awesome. Didn't need knee warmers, only arm warmers and a light vest. The arm warmers had to come off about 2 miles from work along with unzipping the vest.
A commuter I'd never seen came up behind me and we rode till the first big hill (Desmond Drive for the locals). He is a student at Emory. Looked to be ~20 years old and riding a Fuji road bike with a messenger bag. It was neck and neck until just before the top of the hill. Then he passed me and took off.

I caught him at the next light and we rode for a few more blocks until the next climb. He passed me half way up the hill and never looked back.
Oh well. I don't feel bad since I'm three times his age, riding a heavier bike, and only been back to commuting for ~3-4 weeks since my shoulder surgery.
I'm sure I could have whipped his *** last fall when I was in better shape.
