Well, the reason I ask is because I'm not sure I trust the shop that built up my Gunnar. I asked Gunnar if they treat the frames, and Gunnar said it's taken care of by the shop. So I asked the shop, and they were like, "Oh, sure, we did that." Any other shop, I'd take them at their word, but these guys did a rotten job assembling and adjusting the bike (and a couple others I had them put new stems on---one of which ended up with a damaged headset). In fact, I was overhauling the headset for the first time the other night and discovered they had left off a seal that should have been part of the headset assembly.

I haven't noticed any gummy stuff (is that what you meant when you said "gummy stumm"?), but I'll do a closer check.
