Most bikes aren't going to come with a crank length that will be a problem for. So if the person isn't changing a crank, there is no need to worry about it.
BMC kaius has 80 mm BB drop. Size 58 comes with 175 mm cranks. I’d say that’s a problem. Not all bike manufacturers allow one to swap cranks at time of purchase. That was the case with the BMC. I swapped to 170 mm after purchase.
Did I have pedal strikes with the 175? No, but I was aware of the issue. It’s something to consider in regards to the topic of this thread.
