Or you can do something, and maybe risk retaliation by someone who is clearly an a-hole, filled with hate on several different levels. Maybe he would run you down just for reporting this to his insurance, or giving him the finger.
That's why I would go nuclear - restraining order, report the incident as a hate crime, send the restraining order and anything else to the guy's boss and tell the police that you fear for your life. Crush him so he knows everyone is watching him and he can't do anything.
You do you. I’ll do me. A report has already been file. That’s the extent to which I go with regard to these incidents, as stated in OP. I may end up showing the police the video if the wind takes me that way. Or I may not.
Obsessing over means and ways in which I can get back at this guy is counterproductive and a waste of my time. Commiserating with fellow cyclist is a good way to alleviate some of the anxiety of dealing with motorists.
