Whiplash, congrats for getting on the bike. It's a great way to stay fit. There are plenty of apps to try. I'll recommend
Ride with GPS as an app. There's a free version that will get you started.
The thing I look for in my riding season is
improvement over time; a faster Average Speed, a longer distance ridden, a hill that gets easier to climb. The app compiles that data for me, and it motivates me.
