Go for it. Ride longer. Less pain the next day. I have an old 26 or with 60 mm of front travel. I tried a suspension seatpost that didn’t help that much. But now your bike is relegated to riding with the granddaughters. I got a 2022 fuel EX8. A little more suspension that I really needed, but it’s come in handy. Set up on the soft side it smooth out the roots and rocks. Now after a three hour ride, my hands aren’t so sore.
