I know, right? I thought the same thing.

I have a near clone of the Forte, a 20" bifold. I run the cables opposite of the above. The right brake and shift cables run left and "flat" in front of the handlepost and then down and aft on the frame. The left brake and shift (FD, 2X) cables run right* and flat in front of the handlepost. So two separate groups of cables. (* Sort of; I have a third interrupter (mid-cable) lever for the front brake, out front on the aero bar, so the cable runs from the left lever, to the front of the interrupter lever, then back and down to the front V-brake.) Anyway, the two cable groups cross flat against the handlepost, so there is no interference with a bag or large parcel on the front rack platform. And all cables are well away from the front tire.
