My Triomphe crankset is finished with a gray coating of some sort. Is this referred to as the century finish? NDS arm coating been gradually flaking off for the past 25 yrs, and I’m now wondering if safe to use. No cracks as far as I can tell.

This came on my ‘89 Cinelli mens sana, which I’ve had almost since new. Now attempting a rebuild and really would like to keep this crankset.
