One of our local guys reproduced the kickstand out of chrome-moly tubing, then had it chromed. I think you could do the same with stainless and polish it.
I also saw a guy (maybe here) who replaced his with aluminum alloy. Easier to do than Cr-Mo tubing (no chroming), but less structurally efficient, as in strength to weight ratio. It looked awesome though, all polished up.
