So, the receiver-hitch rack that we used on my wife's Acura RSX-S, and then her (ex-my) Honda S2000 fit a 1-1/4 receiver hitch. Heavy as lead, but worked. Now she has a new car, a Subaru BRZ, and the one hitch we found was a hidden-behind-liscence-plate one and the receiver is 2". OK, bought an adapter sleeve. Went to use it, did not realize the cross pin to fit the rack to the receiver is a different diameter; did not fit. Shoot (edited!)! Ended up using my Boxster that day instead as the hitch stays on my car anymore. Need to bore out the hitch to the new, larger, diameter, and I should find a welder to tack-weld the adapter sleeve permanently to the hitch with the holes aligned (you actually put the cross pin INSIDE the bumper cover.... insane!) for ease of installation. Would really prefer a lightweight aluminum hitch.
