When I'm carrying camera gear, I use a comically large 9-liter Mountainsmith Tour "lumbar" pack. It's got a shoulder strap to help distribute the load.



A fanny pack is easier to swing around and grab a camera than a backpack, and when I get off the bike and walk around to scout a photo/video, the camera gear is automagically with me vs. having to take it out of a tankbag.
