That (dust shield) is pressed in and just pops out carefully so not to bend it up too much. Some hubs it's pressed on to the cone and some pressed into the hub shell
Thanks, that's what I originally assumed, but as you say, they are very thin and flexed when I made a gentle effort to pry them off, but didn't budge. I did not want to trash them. Good to know, I will get them off when I disassemble the hub again today.
