Center your stand with the use of a known true wheel, maybe something new and checked on another stand. Adjust and center your stand on that wheel. Save that wheel for the future if things get out of whack.
Have you actually tried it successfully? Switch spacing and it still tracks?
It sure didn't work for me when I tried that way first.
FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS worked perfectly.
