Crashing sucks

So I'm on a trail near my house that parallels a street, just cruising along. I had a green light ahead at an intersection so I didn't bother to slow down since there wasn't any cars. I was going 20 mph or so in the drops and when I came up on the other side of the street the trail takes a sharp right. Being in the drops I didn't have enough time to turn sharp enough and the left handle bar smacked a telephone pole (the reason the trail takes the sharp right). I flew off the bike, with the left knee hitting the stem, and landed in a rolling position with the shoulder hitting first, but no head impact (yay). Sore knee and collar bone though (boo). Got up and another roadie stopped who saw the wreck. Assessing the bike, the stem was knocked sideways so no biggie, but the left brake lever/shifter has some broken plastic at the top point before it turns inward to the lever. Thats where the moment of impact was, but after straightening the handle bars I got back on and it still shifts and brakes fine. The other roadie offered to give me a ride home in his car since I rode down from home which is up on a ridge near the trail. I told him I might take him up on the offer but after going a couple miles I figured I was ok to continue. Made it home but still really sore. The worst part of the ordeal was cracking the LCD on my cell phone when it flew out of my jersey pocket. I keep replaying the moments before in my head too...."Oh..there is a telephone pole, better turn..Better Turn...BETTER TURN...! Luckily the gf is a nursing student and can tend to my wounds...hehe.
