A follow-up on this: I had no reason to doubt the Streetsblog post to which I linked on 20 Jun 2025, but seeing is believing. I visited northern Manhattan today (4 Jul 2025) and the closed pedpath segment is - indeed - reopened. Don't expect any epiphanies - it's just the former/existing path repaired/repaved. But it is open - which IMHO is a Big Deal.

Also (mentioned in my original post), work that blocked access to the athletic fields on Manhattan's NW shoreline is mostly complete. Access is restored. For those biking this route, it's IMHO a nice spot to which to brown-bag a picnic.
