I did the Mount Baldy ride today. Roads closed to cars until the top where the turn-around was. 4 gates on the route so we cross each one twice. I took off early because our group are all faster climbers than I am, but we saw each other at most of the gates. Hundreds of riders and a super fun day. About 46 miles for me and 5600 feet, mostly on the way up, but there is some 1400 feet on the way back down.
Lots of riders met just after the first gate.

This gate is on the way back, just leaving the village.

When I got to the lodge my friends were still eating so I got a breakfast burrito and ate 2/3 of it. They appreciate cyclists there and it's very crowded. Luckily, friends already had a table so I just plopped down.

There is a chain of 5 or 6 bike stores called Incycle. They have shop rides and help racers, etc. Lots of riders were wearing their shop kits. They drove up the long way and set up a sag area for their riders.
