I have two leads on a replacement spindle, one of them from Mad Honk.
I've got a semi-modern, sealed bearing Campy BB unit that I can try on my vintage SR crank later today and let you know what I find.
My guess is that it will likely go on, but it may not be the recommended or perfect fitment because of the taper.
I hope I'm wrong, because it's still one of my unexplored options should I decide to modernize this bike from 1985.
