The reason I thought 41 for a sec, is that perhaps 15 years later, during my last job in a very tech city, a pawn shop had a 41CX in mint condition, working, for $10, I kid you not. Sans manuals. The calc that went on the space shuttle, IIRC. My guess is because all the scientists and engineers went to mathcad or some other laptop math app like I had just started using. Someone at work had both thick manuals, and I unspiraled them and ran both through the autofeed copy machine, punched for binders, zip. All are deep in storage, batteries out.
