I realize this thread is pushing 3 years old and you've already done whichever ride you chose a long time ago, but commenting in case other people are interested - I live close to the D&L and it's a real scenic and beautiful trail. There can be a lot of closures, whenever we have a big storm something typically breaks, but just check out their website to see where the closures are, and you can almost always figure out a workaround. Below Upper Black Edy, you can cross over into NJ and ride the D&R canal where closures are way less common, or just bypass on PA32/PA611 above that. There is a big closure from Allentown to Northampton, but their website has gpx files you can download for the bypass.

There's tons of towns along the route you can stay in and resupply too. I'd say absolutely worth it, just check the website before you go and plan around it
