Hi all, just joined BF. I ride a 1981 univega gran turismo that I finally finished restoring last year. I also have a 1980 Fuji S12S that I used as a “beater” to ride while fixing up the univega. I consider myself a YouTube bike mechanic and even tho there is some blood, sweat, & tears…and cursing…that comes with fixing up these vintage bikes, I’ve really enjoyed the challenge and satisfaction of doing it myself and learning more about the bike each time. I’m not much of a gear head and dont have much bandwidth for getting into the finer details like components, frames, etc. I just try to restore them as best as I can, so I can get out there and ride.
