Is there something on the roads where you ride that may be getting onto the rotor? I've been using those pads for a few years, never had any issues with them until they were worn out and needed replacement anyway.
Pulsing brakes may indicate a warped rotor.
The roads are decently clean and the rotor can't be warped at such mild usage. During hard braking (descents) the pads "self clean" and the whole system works ok. But riding on flat roads with rare and mild braking leads to some sort of glazing.
