unless you or someone else went in and performed FD/RD reassignment surgery on your shifters (some surgery is possible - I retrofitted my 9sp RHS shifter to 10sp with the requisite 10sp ratchet wheel - but FD/RD?), then you have a 9sp rear shifter operating your FD and a front shifter of indeterminate « speed » operating your RD. AFAIK they never came on opposite orientation. I’m not surprised they don’t work. When I suggested flipping them around, I meant swapping the cables over, not the shifters themselves, in case that wasn’t clear
