Why the resistance to doing this with carbon fiber? The amount you need won't cost much, the work is near exactly the same and done well, is probably a permanent repair. The key is the CF strands are stiffer than aluminum so they take the load, not the aluminum. Hemp is just a pretty bandage to keep dirt out of the wound. (You do need to ensure there is enough CF fiber running in line with the loads and across the crack. Might take more than one layer to achieve that.)
