On most of my rides I've no one local to make the "call of shame" too. So I carry everything experience has taught me that I need to get back home. Plus I hate things in my jersey pockets. Fortunately I'm fat enough that I shelter the bag from the wind, LOL!
Oh and you should see the one for when I ride the bikes with tubulars. That one even has a folded tubular tire in it and a bottle of sealant.
