Heh. Reminds me of doing the Northern Tier with a small group. We did the western Canadian option to Waterton Village and Magrath There was one place to stop after leaving Magrath for Cut Bank, MT. It was just before the Del Bonito border crossing. One guy got rid of most of his remaining Canadian money by buying other group members snacks and drinks.
When I was in Canada in 2009, the exchange rate was 1:1, so you could pay in US. dollars.
