Bikes: have about 30 bikes right now

my new bike does not exist or stump the experts for $1

I picked up yet anothe bike for a buck. This one is an Express alvia. It has simples derailers and down tube shifters. Altenberg brakes. A curious rubber plug on the down tube up by the head tube. Semperit tires 27X 1 1/4 made in austria. Rims are Rigada super chromex made in france. The hubs have a shield with the letter U on them. The logo is a crasted eagle on a shield and the badge on the head tube says Express Alvia Seit 1882. Nothing on ebay. Yahoo , Google, And Alltheweb bring up no info that I can see. If this company has been around since 1882 where is the info. A local bike shop specializing in vintage classics and the owner is a wealth of knowledge never heard of this one. Can anyone help. Is this a lost theasure or a peace of scrap or something inbetween
