Can't compare those to new bikes, Trek does not make the 2300 anymore. You are getting the best year for that bike by far. In 05 they added the 10 sp Ultegra group, but downgraded all the other components. For 06 they make the 2200 and 2100, and those bikes no longer have the OLCV stays and fork, but rather TCT carbon a lower grade. And they are not made in the US anymore, only the 5200, some Pilots, and the Madones are. Price wise I think you could go a bit lower, I paid $2300 new for mine in '04, but it was with the Project One option and the $100 contribution to the LAF. It's a good bike, try and haggle a bit for it if you can, like I said that was the best year for the 2300, some of the parts on it you only find on the Madone line now.
