You could practice or at least see what the paint would look like on a tube by buying a piece of iron pipe. I was repainting a Schwinn Continental and looking for a substitute for Schwinn Campus Green. It was a tough color to match and it is a Candy Apple or Flamboyant color. Meaning that the color is applied lightly so that the base coat can reflect through.

I thought I found a House of Kolor paint that looked like Campus Green, so I sanded the pipe, primed it, sprayed Rustoleum Aluminum paint and then the House of Color Green. The paint looked great, but the color wasn't it.



It might get used on another bike since it does look good.
