Well I'm very glad you passed by here! 😊 It's a pleasure to meet you and thanks for the welcome! The C&V section is likely where I'll spend most of my days. I don't have any high hopes of this being a genuine Merkx, so as a "leaning the ropes" restoration project it fits the bill perfect! Certainly seems solid enough, though, whatever it is, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it rides once finished!
I'm in a very tiny house in the heart of Dublin town here and have cordoned off the smallest backyard for a week or 2 to work on this mystery bike/frame. Kids and wife are delighted of course. 😄 It's my first full brake down of a bike and its components, and you're exactly right - it's a great learning experience- who says 'old dogs cant learn new tricks!'👍
