Tape should not go up to height of the rim that has hooks or the equal height if rimless, correct? tape goes across the base of the rim....so maybe the bottom of the tire bead touches the rim strip , but not the side. or am I missing something
The tape has to be wide enough that the bottom of the bead is pressing down on the edge of the tape. But not so wide that it starts to crawl up the sidewall behind the brake track.
