(Maybe should have ordered up a new 52 when I bought the 36....)

The more I ride the more I find I'm on the 52. Changes in back are between 5th & 10th, number of shifts has decreased. It's the steepest hills that have me moving to the inside, 4th to 1st in back.

I'll be mindful of that 16 limit later today, see how the new configuration behaves.

Otherwise the original combo's been trouble-free since I changed out the shift cable & final short housing at the back in May.
I would replace that worn chainring - along with new chain and cassette

are you climbing the steepest hills in the big ring ?

are you spinning out on the 52 ?

how does your chainline look ?

50t big ring might be a better option if you spend a lot of time on the big ring ?
