I know this is an older post and might not apply anymore but I was looking to do a DIY click stand (also because I would like to get it sooner than when he returns) ... my quick solution (currently) is to use a (don't laugh) ... a folding walking cane. It's not perfect but it works-ish for now. I have placed my order for click stand and am eager to receive it. Hope this helps someone.
