$1,300 (US) seems reasonable if the bike is in good shape. I have the same bike, but it's a bit more beat up with about 8,000 miles. If I were going to sell mine I'd look for around $1,100 (which I may do in the near future; I've got my eye on a Scott CR-1). What kind of pedals does he have on it? The Trek 2300 is a good bike; I've certainly enjoyed riding mine.
