The old solution to this was having the hanger be part of a the permanent titanium dropout. These are nearly indestructible due to titanium's strength and flexibility. It is why Calfees and Parlees also had solid titanium dropouts as well.

In this case, the way this hanger connects to the bike doesn't look like it will do much or any damage to the dropouts if the hanger is abused. That was not the case for the short period Wheels Manufacturing offered stainless steel hangers that were virtually guaranteed to destroy the dropout on the carbon frames they were intended for. And some Trek TT bikes and other have hanger designs that harm the frame even though they are soft aluminum.
