Even more embarrassing (for the OP) is that he even asked the question.
It's one of those things where if it was a good idea it would have been done long time ago.
I have 8 bikes in the garage and have yet to touch the derailleur hanger on any of them. If the OP has to adjust his for the 10th time, clearly there are other issues going on that he hasn't told us. That's not normal.
