Yep. This is why replaceable derailleur hangers were invented. I have a high-end bike sitting around in the basement that I can't bring myself to throw out. The only thing wrong with it is the broken non-replaceable derailleur hanger. I'd have been happy to buy half a dozen replaceable hangers to keep the bike on the road.
