It isn't a gunsmithing forum, so I, um, kept the explanation simple to make the point that this is a common practice that works.
I had to bed the rear axle on my road bike. It had several mm of play. So I used some epoxy release spray and some stick puddy epoxy. Now it’s snug with zero play.
