Exactly this. It's a piece of cake when you do it right. New frames used to come with the liners already routed through for easy cable insertions. Only one time did I ever have to fish a new cable through without the liner, and that was indeed a challenge.
OP didn't ask, but there are some unique eyelets that go in those penetrations - make sure you don't lose them.
