Bikes: too many or not enough

French to English BB and Fork???

I have what I believe to be a mid 70s Gitane Super Corsa. Bought it as a complete bike many years ago and stripped everything off it to use on another bike. Had been "restored". Appears the entire frame was re-chromed (or it has the best original chrome I have ever seen) and then painted (not particularly well) and vinyl repro decals (not particularly applied well). The head tube lugs were left chrome exposed which is not usual for a Super Corsa. Anyway I had always assumed the BB and fork were French threaded/sized but I am rebuilding the bike and the BB and fork are both definitely English thread/size. I wasn't aware you could rethread a BB or fork from French to English. I know you can redo a French to Italian as it is larger. So did Gitane Super Corsas come with English thread? Thoughts? I am going to sell the bike and want to represent it correctly. Pictures of frame included.
