I confess. I was part of a large crowd of riders surrounding an electric bike towing a trailer with a sound system. Not just any sound system. 350 pounds of high quality gear; big, great sounding speakers, excellent FM reception and an absurd amount of amp power. I forget the number but a few thousands of watts. Bike, trailer and gear weighed 600 pounds. My second time but it's been happening a few years. On a Friday night during and as part of Portland's Pedal Palooza. Jazz radio station's Palooza event. Take's place during the Soulful Strut radio show celebrating the Black music that might be heard on a Friday night. The program is of recorded music, but the DJ is live, full of energy, has an incredible depth of music knowledge and is full of energy. He called out a few hails to us. Fun!

But for the rest of my riding, no music. Except some of the time in my head.
